Welcome to Batawa
Former Central Ontario Railway, (COR) now the Lower Trent Trail. Maintained by the Municipality of West Quinte. It is not part of the OFSC trail system.
Old one room school section # 17, built in 1894 in Sydney Township.

Built as a M.E. Church in 1871, now a United Church.
Municipal park comorating Wallbridge being the oldest municipal government in Ontario. It was founded in 1850. It was originally called Sydney, and became Wallbridge in 1863. It was originally settled in 1808. Other municipalities are older, it is the incorporation that is the oldest.
Farm Town Park and the Hastings Museum of Agricultural Heritage. There are 8 buildings each with a different theme.

Central Ontario Railway (COR) bridge at Glen Ross built by 1889 from Trenton to Wallace and just petered out in the wilderness. Without a population base to serve, it began shutting down sections as the resourced that began it, ran out starting in 1941. Abandoned entirely in 1985. Now an unmaintained recreational trail.

Frankford United Church, built in 1879 as a M.E. Church.
Rotating swing bridge across the Trent Canal at Glen Ross, built in 1907 by the Central Ontario Railway (COR) when the Trent Canal opened here. It was taken over by CN in 1909. Abandoned in 1985.
Sterling train station built for the Grand Junction Railway (GJR) about 1875, abandoned by 1987. Now used by the Rotary and the historical society since 2004. It has been moved a short distance from it's original location. OFSC trail E108 runs in front of the deck. The line ran from Belleville to Campbellford.
