the food is ok but when you order a plate of rice and peas and a meat they give you very lil meat and they are pricey..

I wanted to have something different for dinner last night....I ordered jerk chicken and rice and peas, the jerk chicken and rice and peas had no taste....my parents Jamaican cooking is 100% better.
I was wondering the entire time while I was eating, maybe the taste would change but no.
The best Jamaican food is from, foods to go on dyre ave, cooler runnings on Wickham ave and top of the hill was great before the owner passed away all located in the bronx.

I'm just wondering when.... you gonna put back the authentic Jamaican cooking, the spice, the flavor, back to the food. It does not have the Yard taste me a look day. It taste like all the Spanish food in Yonkers. Our cuisine nuh fi alter fi fit nuh body taste bud.

I give 3 stars for the flavors, tastes, and authenticity of selections. The food once received, is delicious. I would give the whole 5 stars if they were a kind and attentive business, but they are quite careless when it comes to packaging, hospitality and preparation. However, I wasn't able to give these 3 stars until my 3rd delivery order because first time order was completely wrong and no utensils and napkins, 2nd order was missing items i obviously paid for (never got them) and again, no utensils and napkins, 3rd order, had to cancel because they did not have anything left on menu of what I ordered, and actually on all of these orders, I received a call to be advised that items I ordered were listed on menu, but they ran out. ALL 3 TIMES. I had to choose fast and hope I would like; fortunately, I did.. I guess that says something about the food and flavor but, preparation is everything, especially if you know your volume of clientele. I will continue to enjoy this place, and keep pushing for better hospitality and preparation. Spread Love yall.

A solid and tasty meal option when the cafeteria just isn't enough! You will not break the bank ordering lunch from the Jamaica Kitchen. Co-workers at CR and I often order the inexpensive and bountiful lunches offered here. For $7 a pop, respectively, you can get an order of curry, fried or stew chicken and for a few dollars more - everything else they have to offer. The lunch special comes with water or a soda pop included and two sides of your choosing - a very fair deal indeed. I would steer clear of the mac-n-cheese(?) because it's some other substance that is most decidedly NOT cheese. The yams are far too sweet for my taste but they are tender and some love them so sweet. Your best bet the collard greens and rice and peas are consistently perfect and the customer service always thanks for me for my phone orders - which is courteous. All-in-all, your hunger will be sated.
