Roy's is always great place for seafood. Excellent fresh fish and desserts. Usually has some unusual fish choices along with standard types of fish. Good service and ambiance. Excellent presentation.

My husband and I dined at Roy's a few days ago at the Tampa location near the airport. We got there between lunch and dinner hours. It was our last day of vacation, we had been busy all day and had not eaten lunch so we were famished.

We were very grateful that they had a menu with sushi available and the bartender was not busy yet so he was happy to serve us. There were only high bar tables in the bar so he accomadated us in an adjacent dining room.

Everything was excellent! ! The server was very courteous and knowledgeable about the menu and able to answer questions regarding the menu items. We had two sushi rolls which were both full of flavor and beautifully presented.

We also had the lobster bisque which had a Hawaiian twist in that it was coconut flavored. The bisque was unusual and delicious.

We also had the seafood trio and the short ribs as entrées. Both were full of flavor and were nicely presented. The short ribs came on top of some mashed potatoes. They were braised very slowly and were very satisfying comfort food.

We finished the meal by sharing the chocolate lava cake. It was served with a raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. I could have easily eaten another one by myself!! It was a very memorable experience and I enjoyed the Hawaiian flare that Chef Roy Yamaguchi used in his exceptionally fine menu.

What a romantic expirrence we had!! From our entrance Audrey/Aubrey the hostess was soo friendly...we told her it was our first time there and she decorated our table with beautiful flowers for a very special dinner. Tonya was a wonderful waitress and even when we had a problem with our food, they made a new meal and were very apologetic. Loved it!!

Let me start off by saying how ridiculous it is to leave this place a bad review.
My girlfriend and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary there last night. Made reservations for 8:30, which was a little close to closing for our comforts and I'm sure theirs. It seemed no problem to the waitress as she was very sweet and attentive the entire night. Samantha went above and beyond for us. Sending us out small plates of tasty little starters before we even got our food. The lobster bisque was the best we'd ever had. And the main courses we both got were phenomenal. When asked for desert we turned it down knowing they were close to closing, but Samantha still brought us one free of charge with "happy anniversary" on it. I know this review is long and drawn out, but we agree this was one of the best experiences we've ever had at a restaurant and will return. Thank you everyone so much!
