Price was great. Service left MUCH to be desired. No one offered me the toll 'plate pass' option so after I turned in my rental car, I got a letter in the mail for the toll charges (no big deal) with a $9.99 PER TOLL adminstrative charge. This is absurd and should be illegal. I tried to contact sunpass and pay the tolls myself but Thrifty customer service "didn't have the document numbers" needed to pay the tolls. Total scam for them to make additional money. I rented a car for 3 weeks. Great way too treat your customers. I'll never rent from Thrifty again.

I rented from this rental agency on a recent trip to Florida. The counter agents were very unprofessional, and the Dodge Charger that I rented was pretty rough, with numerous scratches and paint chips. We rented the vehicle for one week, returned the vehicle, and paid for the rental with our credit card upon return. About 3 weeks after our trip, we received a letter from Thrifty advising us that they were charging our credit card for a Florida highway toll plus an administrative fee. During our trip, we used a toll road on two occasions, and both times, paid cash at the toll booth. I appealed the charges with Thrifty, only to be told that Florida has something called "OTR's" and that the renter is fully responsible for these tolls. Here is how they explained it. "The tolls reported by the Toll Authority for the rental vehicle you had are from ORT toll locations. ORT toll locations do not accept cash payments. ORT is short for Open Road Tolling. The Florida Department of Transportation has been trying to lower the amount of backed up, stop and go traffic problems. To achieve this goal they have implemented ORT tolling at certain locations. ORT roads simply have cameras above the freeway that allow drivers the ability to drive Highway Speeds and eliminate slowing down and stopping to pay at a booth or a gate." Now, this is the first time I've ever herd of this, and nobody at Thrifty explained this in advance. I guess their agents think that their out-of-state renters are mind readers and are fully aware of how the highway toll system in Florida is set up. Long story short, they are refusing to remove the charge from my credit card. I plan to dispute the charge with my credit card provider. DO NOT rent from Thrifty Rental Car. They lack any form of good business acumen, really don't care about having repeat customers and they certainly run an unethical operation. I will never rent from Thrifty Rental Car again!

Wish there were negative stars to give. Renting from Thrifty is the biggest mistake of my life so far. Right from the first minute of my car retrieval, the experience has been horrible. The agent in the front desk was rude as if he has been forced to work there. Get the hell out man if you do not know how to answers questions of the customers. Second, there was nobody to inspect the vehicle for any damages before handing it over to me. The rental document didn't state of the damages that were already present on the vehicle before giving to me. And just what i expected, there was a considerable size of hole on the rear bumper. Called the customer service and she then had to log it in my rental agreement that the hole was there already. After driving for an hour, the rear tire got flat. Called the customer service again to check if they could send someone in for the repair/replacement, after an 2 hrs of to and fro calls he says he could not do the service of changing tires for free as the manufacturer warranty is not covered . Kidding me!? It is a 2017 vehicle!! Had to talk to Geico Road Side Assistance to have it fixed. They were super quick with it. Finally, the spare was put on which is a donut. I had opted in for the exchange of vehicle as i cannot drive with a donut tire. So called in again to the customer service, this time too it was a 2 hour call as he couldn't reach Hertz for the exchange. I said i would go their myself and check in person. Before that, i had asked a 100 times on call to the customer service agent that if i will be charged for anything if i will exchanging the vehicle and all of the times i was told no. Before taking the exchange vehicle, i asked the person over the counter as well, i was told "no, we wont charge you for anything if you exchange the vehicle". Finally, after returning the vehicle i am being charged for the tires. When asked why, they said it's the cost to repair the tire. Why the hell did you tell me i wont be charged for "anything" ??!! Now they are asking me to prove that i was being told about no charges. Seriously man!! you successfully ruined my holiday and made stay on call for more than 4 hrs and all i get is $64 additional charges on my bill? Never ever rent with the ruthless, dramatic car rental company. Rent with Enterprise, they are really good with the service.

I read reviews all the time and make decisions based on the review. The price of a van was so much more cost effective for my 11 day trip from thrifty I didn't even look at a review when I made the reservation. After making the reservation I looked at the reviews and was very nervous about my decision. I travel for work and never have I used thrifty so I began to think that I got one of those awful companies that don't ever have the cars they sell you and pressure you into something else. Well I have to say this was the easiest rental experience I have ever had. We got off our plane I told my wife I will run over to the rental place in case there is problems while she grabbed the luggage. I walked up to the counter with no line. Told the guy my name he typed on the computer a little printed out some things and said your car is ready go to the pick up place just a short walk in the garage. The garage attendant gave me the keys told me the spot number and we were on our way. It was by far the fastest and easiest experience I have had. When returning my car I told the gentleman about how I read reviews that were negative and he said well you have to post one for us because it was such a positive experience and that is what I am doing. Friendly staff, new car, speedy transaction, clean, I am very satisfied!!!

They were good, from start to finish. Nothing over the top, they have good customer service and they had a good dependable car. They do try to up sale you on everything. XM radio is not standard and you have to fill up within 10 miles of the airport before you return the car. All in all it's not bad, would use them again
