I would love to patronize this place more often, but we can't hear ourselves over the blaring music or TV. The food isn't bad. Service was great. Most restaurants have music but more for background, not drowning out their customers! We have tried a few times at different Applebee's. It's just a shame.

First and foremost the 1 star rating has absolutely nothing to do with our waitress Melissa. She did an amazing job considering the circumstance she faced. She had way to many tables. When we asked why it was so chaotic, to our surprise there were only 2 servers...well a server and a bartender who was also tending tables. Shame on management at Applebee's. What kind of management has only 2 servers on a weekend? Half of the menu items we ordered were out of stock. no milk for the kids, no ribs, no rice for our stir fry. We also seen the host and servers wiping down tables with napkins. The bathrooms were nasty with the toilets have waste in them and on them. It also took a long time to get our food. Again, I do not blame our server. I just wonder why the management didn't come and help them. We seen a couple of people I'm assuming was management walking around in and out of the back but not waiting tables to help the server and bartender out. we will not be returning to this Applebees or any other Applebees if this is how costumers and apparently the employees are treated.

We came in around 10pm for food since they are open until 1am. As we walked in, two other parties walked in. Party of 5, party of 5, and our party of 2. The tables up front had been moved together to form one large table and it was still messy. The hostess after writing all of the amounts of guests waiting walked away, not even giving us a wait time, so we assumed to get tables to seat us all at. One whole section had completely clean tables. An employee was sitting at one watching us all wait. We sat there every bit of 10 minutes waiting for the hostess to come back, but she never did. We were hungry so we just left. Don't know if there was some big game, but no matter what, everybody isn't there to party and watch a game. We only had a hunger for a nice close to midnight snack and ended up going to McDonald's that the drive thru stays open 24/7. Satiated our midnight snack needs.

Overall we have had mixed experiences. Been here a few times and not been super excited. We made the mistake of going out on a Saturday. The servers are amazing ill give them that. But the management is terrible. After ordering steak we had noticed the three tables around us noticing the steak was over cooked. Our steak which we ordered medium rare, came back medium well (slight pink center). No biggie, we just asked the nice, very understanding, server to have the kitchen whip us up two more. Not a big deal, and we were not even upset. The manager comes out to talk to us, apologizes hastily, and tells us if we want our steaks to have any amount of pink or red inside of it we need to order it "RARE". I'm sorry but rare? Really? Do you want me to google rare steak for you? Try not to go on a weekend if you can.

Haven't been here in awhile...because of Applebee's history was known for average food and bad service but I'm pleased to say things have gotten better. Almost back to the original. Food choices were great and very tasty. Bartender was very helpful and pleasant while serving us. Place was really clean. Great job Applebee's Hamburg! I will visit again!
