For the price we paid, it was fine. Signs of wear and tear throughout the hotel however. Dubious looking stains on the carpets that seemed to coming from the rooms. Torn furniture. Fake nails down the side of the bed. Luckily we used it only for sleeping in, but as mentioned, for the price we paid and the location, it was fine (although from other reviews it appears we got off lucky!)

Breakfast very good. Sometimes can be surprisingly noisy, depending on who is in neighbouring rooms. They need to refrain from putting quiet, single people and loud couples and families next door to each other. Hotel has potential. Stayed recently and there was a lot of wandering in and out of rooms. At night/early hours. Opening and closing doors. This meant I did not get any sleep. A nice warm bath to be enjoyed.

Hotel is extremely dated. Rooms are old and uncomfortable. Single bed was very poor. Shower ran hot and cold while having no pressure. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was okay. Could do with a huge revamp. On the plus side it is in a good location and close to the main station. Can't really complain for the price. Suppose it's okay for a cheap one night stay in the city centre.

Nice art Deco hotel in the town centre. Cheap and no frills. Run down but does the job. Internet is expensive £7 p/day. If you don't like noise at night, try to get a top floor away from the front of the building, or the hum from the burger van and people outside might keep you up. Have headphones so didn't bother me.

Back in 2012 we had our wedding reception here, the hotel was illuminated at night, the reception room was spacious, our suite was large and all fittings and furnishings in the room were working including the jacuzzi bath and we had a great time. Fast forward 5 years and there has been significant wear and year on the rooms, the lights on the hotel are nearly all blown up, so it is not the magnificent display it used to be, the rooms are okay, however we have found that the room we are staying in is fitted with a jacuzzi bath that doesn't work, it may have been retrofitted from another room. All in all we still love the hotel, it just needs a bit of attention to restore its former splendour.
