Great hotel, great location. Double room but only 1 bath towel and enough for 1 brew... We went to visit our son for the evening and to have a few drinks. Then going to the bar was an absolute joke £21.50 for 2 vodkas & red bull I nearly fell through the floor. No need for that I'm sure if they reduced the price they would make more with people staying at the hotel. Food we didn't try as good location to go out to dine.

Fantastic hotel. Staff friendly and views amazing. Room maybe slightly on the small side but perfect for a one night stop. Breakfast lovely too. Highly recommended

We very much enjoyed our stay. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely spacious bedroom with a great view. Thank you. Just right for us visitors from the most easterly point of England. Very comfortable super king bed. Nice to have the fridge and dressing gowns as little extras. Loved it.
Only 2 points that could be looked into;
Walls around wash basin area were not clean, splatter marks and slight stain.
The breakfast was lovely, but everyone was queuing for a while as kept running out of items on the hot food. We did not mind, all good things are worth waiting for, but others were muttering. People are strange aren't they, those in front of us in the queue moaning fried eggs had run out, when they turned up one person took 4!! We enjoyed it, and a great selection. We would stay again and will recommend.

Small but comfortable room, although bathroom was very small. Cooked buffet breakfast was adequate but the lack of alternative flavour tea bags in a 4 star hotel is poor. Continental breakfast looked very unappetising.
Staff were extremely efficient and friendly.
The view from our room across the Mersey was wonderful.
Bar area is too small for the size of hotel and at times the bar person often having to carry out other duties.
Hotel is in an excellent location for the major tourist sites.
Overall we were very happy with our stay.

We loved the 'privileged' room. It was spacious and luxurious. The initial impact had a real 'wow' factor. The view from the window was fantastic. Breakfast was relaxed and there was everything we could want. Service was great - we asked for extra towels and water and they came with a smile. Someone even came just to check that everything was OK. All in all a really enjoyable stay.
