Went here last night for my parents Ruby wedding dinner.
What can I say . From the moment we arrived to the moment we finished and paid the service was excellent . Very well paced . Food was delicious and spot on without any execptions. Just one slight critisism the onion rings tastex slightly of fish ( maybe same batter used). But as I say not really a problem.
The owner came over and chatted to us before my parents arrived. Very nice and laid back. The waiter and waitress who served us ( sorry did not carch their names ) very good chatted and made us feel at ease.
I read some reviews before we booked and nearly didnt.... would have missed out big time if we had not gone there.
If I lived in the are I would definatley dine there again.
Thank you for a great evening.

So we visited the Lemon tree (I think its still called that) after looking at the menu outside. We asked to book a table for an hours’ time and the guy kindly fitted us in. On our return, we were sat next the kitchen and the toilets which was not a good start.
We were then passed the menu, which was focussed on Mother’s Day. We were hungry by this point so settled for what we had. After ordering a VERY expensive beer, and an OK bottle of wine, we ordered a starter and main each. Within 2 minutes our starter was at our table. Not a great start, I assume it was just sitting on the side waiting for someone to order it.
We finished out started, which were OK at best, we then waited another 5 minutes and our main was with us, again I assume it was in the oven waiting to be ordered. The lamb was OK, nothing special and it came with a mouthful of veg to share between two.
During our visit, the atmosphere was dead, it felt awkward talking, the table looked like it had come out of my old high school, it was covered in pen marks and generally tatty, nobody came over to see if we were OK and we were constantly watching out backs to make sure that people going to and from the kitchen and toilets did not knock into us.
Once we had finished our food, we sat for 10-15 minutes until a young guy came over, asked if we had finished and whether everything was OK – When I said “NO” he just took our plates and left. Eventually I spoke with a senior member of staff, to whom I explained everything and the response was a, don’t really care attitude, I reluctantly paid the overpriced bill and left.
The whole episode felt rushed, without any passion or concern for the customer.
I can assure you we will not be going again.
