BOOK ACCOMMODATION WITH CAUTION!! Minimal customer service to the point of rudeness and room was so cramped that one person would have had to climb either over the end of the double bed or the other person in order to ge into it. This is NOT RUN AS A HOTEL BUT A GUEST HOUSE - it has only 5 rooms, there is no reception, no car park, apparently no staff present at night and instructions to move the car were issued almost immediately as one cannot park directly outside or in the street between 9am and 5pm on weekdays. Proprietor of strangely quiet bar/restaurant (although the food was actually pretty good) took offence at original review and made sarcastic remarks in a mildly intimidating manner, then claimed that the accomation was a separate business and they were paid by the owners to welcome guests. Agreement was eventually reached to ammend rating, report and rename restaurant using the name he suggested but subsequent bank checks showed that payment for both accommodation were made to the same account. Alternative lodgings was sourced for the night which although so slightly more expensive was considerably less than the non-discounted price here, vastly superior and included a cooked breakfast.

very poor customer service. only 5 of us and a group of around 10 people in the place and was hard work trying to get another drink and even dessert ! we will never return . steak was ok but had much better elsewhere. if you want good service and the best steak go to steak of the art !!

We were a group of three who travelled to Bristol to a conference. As we were paying for our own accommodation we looked for a reasonably priced B & B within the city. We found the Ashville and had an extremely good and comfortable one night stay.
Each of our rooms was spotless, well appointed and with a complimentary coffee/tea tray.
The breakfast, although buffet style, was delicious and plentiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location is about 1 mile out of the city centre but walking in to the centre is possible (ask the staff).
I would stay at The Ashville again if I visited Bristol in the future.
