Most of the staff was kind and helpful. Rooms were nice. More expensive than the superior benedicts hotel. The late night gentleman named Freddie was the rudest hotel employee I have ever encountered and that's the true reason for the 2 stars, along with price. He didn't allow my brother and I to enter for 15 minutes at 2 in the morning because he didn't believe we were actually staying at the hotel. Hassled and harassed us and proceeded to tell us to not give him lip. The front desk had an error upon check-in and it said only one person was staying in the room when it was a room for three. Can't emphasis enough how brutal this man was. How he has a job is beyond me.

This hotel is well placed for bus and train services, including the airport bus. We were fortunate to have a room on the 7th floor where everything has been recently refurbished. It was also nice and quiet there being on the top floor. Good choice on the menu both for dinner and in the bar area. We much enjoyed the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. All staff friendly and polite and helpful. Will definitely stay at the Clayton again.

The bedrooms are terrible and not worth the money that I paid. I requested 3 rooms close together and got them 3 floors apart! I requested early check in but didn't get it! No mattress cover on a soft, uncomfortable bed, room dingy and cold, tatty bathroom, only 2 tea bags - these weren't replenished on the Friday, heating far too noisy and the most ridiculous window blinds! The list goes on! Desperately in need of refurbishment. I have stayed in hotels at less than half the price that were better than this! I can't believe that I will ever stay in a Clayton Hotel again! However I must say that most of the staff that we encountered were excellent!

What makes this Hotel is the staff. Professional, courteous, helpful and friendly, I could not fault them.
The room was comfortable and everything I needed was available. I was impressed that there was a laundry service if required. The only criticism I would have is the cooked breakfast, it was cold and the coffee followed suit. However, I had a brilliant dinner experience.
It is important to me to feel safe and secure when away from home and this hotel provided that. I would certainly stay here again.

Availed of the Sunday Duvet Day. Great pizza and popcorn. Room was great. Stayed in the executive room on 7th floor. Had the breakfast in bed which was excellent. Without doubt it is the staff that made the experience so memorable. Every member of staff I encountered was both friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
