Nice cozy atmosphere. Good food! Your typical neighborhood go-to place. Would go back.

i have been away from Istanbul for 3 years. one of the first places i wanted to come is Kahvedan. now that i am here, it has not failed. excellent service with English-speaking staff and thorough menus makes it a bit easier on those of us that are hungry but have little or no Turkish.
the grilled Hellim salad is an excellent balance between refreshing and substantive. very good portions and priced two or three liras ($1) more than generic places you'll find for fresh, well-prepared food that never disappoints.
as a vegetarian that needs protein, the meat and bread culture make meals tricky sometimes, but they were happy to make a couple scrambled eggs for me.
if you wake up late, you can get sumptuous breakfast here until 5pm. kitchen closes at 11pm week nights but the drinks and coffee continue into the wee hours with ex-pats, tourists and Turks alike.
and unlike the bustling cafe down the block, there's enough space between you and your neighbors to enjoy a quiet, easy-going meal inside or out.

Great breakfast, very friendly staff. I ordered the Mexican omelet, cooked to perfection. We also ordered the French toast with fruit, very tasty. A+
