This hotel treated me well. Through their personal tourist, I went to see most of the sights. We got to see little Syrians go through the Turkish border. Having my helicopter trip in the lovely Apache, we saw many back alley-ways lit up. When we were given bikes, we saw some local enthusiasts, doing what they find most interesting. People had dozens of bleach bottles stacked up, in Commemorance of Adeel Akhtar (A star in the radical film the four lions), also followed by many people buying vests (of the explosive kind) and quite a few public executions. I particularly enjoyed the butcher (Kobě) take down his prey of an arm. I would recommend the local council to stop this, as it kinda put me off going back. The limbs laying around doesn't strengthen this point. But overall they were kind to me, because we let them into our country. 9/11 would fly into there again.

I stayed in Barons Hotel in about 1977 with John Stefanidis. It was magical to be in Aleppo that wonderful city and so it was to stay in the famous Barons Hotel. We were so welcomed by the family though we were only there for two days and we felt very at home. The visitors book was full of famous names such at TE Lawrence and others. It was a long time ago but I remember this delightful stay with great affection which makes the tragedy of Aleppo since then even more poignant.

Best hotel! Very nice IS neighborhood, good service and u can hear the bombs and gunshot night and day. Sightseeing tour is excellent... Sometimes a public beheading and sometimes a suicide bomber!
