Friendly staff both in Restaurant and Reception. 5*
Good location, heart of the city, minutes away from the beaches and attractions. 5*
Standard double hotel room not ideal. Small, with wall view though the window, dark. Big disappoint since you build your expectations looking in pictures online and receive what you receive.. In our case - shoe box. Tidy though. 2* (room keeping wins those two. )
9th floor covered in ceramic tiles, sound of high heals banging around will wake you up for sure. Plus windows are quite close to each other hence you can hear your neighbours all the time.
I saw nice looking rooms here, but definitely do not recommend standard double room.

I have just returned home from this hotel,the hotel was spotlessly clean,cleaners were in my room everyday of my stay,always fresh towels and bedding.All the staff were very friendly,I was on my own and a little nervous as it was my first holiday going solo,David behind the bar was brilliant he made me welcome each evening and is an awesome bar staff really funny and Made great cocktails.the hotel is central to to all amenities and 2 minutes from the main bus station,I only stayed bed and breakfast so cannot comment on the food served,there was ample to choose from at breakfast time.I will be returning back to this hotel early next year A big thank you to you all at the Marte.there is no a/c but my room was not overly warm,the roof top pool was small but a nice place to go and chill out,great budget hotel.

Excellent value for money. Decent location. Slightly outdated but nothing to complain about. Didn't have air-conditioning in our room but didn't find this to be a problem.

Old rooms and bad maintenance.
There is no ventilation in the rooms (no a/c or fans), you have to open the windows to get some air.
Also, rooms are dark.
You can hear all the surrounding guests like they are with you in the room.
We made a reservation asking for a place for parking and a crib. There was no room in the parking lot, we had to look for it on the street, and no crib in the room (though they immidiatly brought us one).
The staff is very nice and helpful.
Not wheelchair accessible (or baby stroller...), There's a lift, but with about 10 stairs leading to it (?)
Location is good.

Excellent clean room. Excellent rooftop pool. Excellent and professional staff. It is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful port. Puerto de la cruz. Highly recommended.
