Our room on the top floor was lovely and we very much enjoyed the pool bar, which offered excellent service and a unique space to relax and meet people. We loved it! However, the service generally speaking was poor, in particular the front desk staff who seemed utterly disinterested in our satisfaction during our two-week stay. We only had breakfast one morning as we found what was offered completely over-priced at 22€ per person and, again, sullen service. We opted instead to eat our breakfasts elsewhere. We only had dinner once at the hotel restaurant; skip it if you are a vegetarian (not so uncommon in the 21st century!) because they offered no meat alternatives. We are experienced travellers and HH members who visit Hilton hotels all over the world (as well as regular visitors to Barcelona) and I honestly don't know why this hotel has four stars to begin with. It is a lovely, very clean hotel and one or two members of the staff stood out (the barman at the pool and the house-keeping staff), but without four-star service why choose this hotel? We won't again.

This Downtown property is a 6-minute walk from the museum at Casa Batlló and 1.5 km from La Sagrada Familia church.
All rooms offer upscale decor and custom-designed beds, plus free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and tea and coffee making facilities. Suites add seating areas with pull-out sofas. Some offer balconies, whirlpool tubs and terraces.
Cooked-to-order breakfast is available (fee), and there are 3 restaurants serving Catalan and Spanish cuisine. There's also a fitness center, an outdoor pool and a wellness center, plus a business center.

Subpar Hilton... clearly in Spain they don't have any idea what customer service is. Not remotely accommodating on any front. Pool and terrace was beyond disappointing - freezing cold and no attendants poolside. No jacuzzi. Front desk was extremely unhelpful with every request made. Have no intentions of ever staying here again. Requested a little leeway with late check out to allow us an opportunity to have breakfast but were flat out denied (this shouldn't have been a problem, as we could clearly see the housekeeping staff still a few rooms over still working - the front desk was just unwilling to extend themselves to accommodate despite our Honors Gold status).

Great hotel, great location for seeing a lot of the attractions. Rooms were nice and very clean. Great customer service too!

My experience at Alexandra Barcelona was very nice. The front desk was AMAZING! There was one particular front desk gentleman who checked us in the afternoon on Christmas Eve. He worked on Christmas day whom was the MOST helpful during both days. His name escapes me, but he provided the BEST service at all the Hilton's I've stayed at globally. To the manager: Please make sure he is recognized! Provide me back his name. I truly would like to know he was recognized. Thanks...
Another gentleman, Jeremy, whom checked us out was also very helpful. He even went about to find my charger I left behind and had a taxi drive it to my location. I was so grateful for the service and quick thinking he provided for me. We have one more week out of two that we stayed. Enjoyed our stay at Alexandra Barcelona for the service and location to the city center.
