Location, location, location. Good staff Will service you well, Monica in breakfest and Diane in reception. Avoid Tony at all cost, he'll rip your money. He is torist driver for a hugh sum of money, he is the manager when you need some thing. He wanted 230€ for a private tour in Brasov. We did it for 80€ in an Office 100 meter from the hotel. Van goch restaurant is ecxellent

One of the best hotels we've stayed at. Location is perfect - it's right in the midst of the old town, yet our room was very quiet and even had a private entrance! Very friendly staff, great breakfast selection, super clean room, comfy bed, fast internet... and what really impressed me - crisp starched sheets... Home away from home!

This is one of the best hotels in Bucharest -- small, stylish and in good taste. It was set up by a group of smart Dutchmen, one of whom makes reproduction furniture.
I haven't stayed in the hotel (but I have seen the rooms) but I come to the restaurant every day and have breakfast -- either a bacon and eggs (for about $5 or a full on buffet for double that).
The food is good but not exceptional and what I like best about Rembrandt is its consistency -- you know you'll get a decent feed and you know you'll be treated with respect. Their service is excellent.
Romanians are really friendly and hospitable and if you visit them at home they're incredible. But when they work in restaurants, bars and shops their bad side can come out: rude, supercilious and defensive. This is how people were served under Communism and for some reason it has carried over to the present.
But this place, and the next book Van Gogh Cafe, which is owned by the same Dutch gang, have avoided this by recruiting good people and offering some training or guidance. But, saying that, there is one blonde girl on kitchen buffet duty who really isn't very friendly at all. Everyone else it.
