Loved it! Fabulous Portuguese food, great service. I always come here when in Funchal. Always busy so best to book a table.

The waitress did and exceptional job taking care of us. We didn't have a reservation, but got a table in few minutes. The tuna and shrimps from the "make up your own combo" menu were extremely good and portions as in most of the portugal will kill the biggest hunger. Awesome place!

very nice restaurant with good food and wine. The waitress was nice and attentive. Definitely better than most restaurants in the crowded Santa Maria Street!

If you only eat at one place in Madeira it should be here. The food was excellent, in fact the whole experience was great. We'd have paid more than we did for the food we got, so that was a very pleasant surprise. Get there early though - the tables fill fast.

Really impressed with Taberna Madeira. The staff were so helpful in helping us choose our plates, we went for the tapas style. My friend ordered that lamb shank and they told us we may have to wait around 20-30 minutes which we appreciated.
Food was delicious, fresh and so flavoursome. The portions are a decent size and I would recommend trying the homemade desserts, absolutely divine. Our favourite was the lime cheesecake, it was so light and perfect way to end the meal.
