The best place in Zakopane. The best breakfast in any hotel we have ever been to. Great customer service. Kudos to Pan Jacek for his patience with our daughter's food selection.

When I travel I look for a few things.
1. A safe clean environment that I me and my family can lay our head down at night and relax.
2. Breakfast - I am not a fan of looking for breakfast I want it right here.
3. Value - I work hard for my money and don't want to waste it

1. This hotel sits on Krupowki street which is the main pedestrian thoroughfare. Yes there are students and pubs and restaurants and bars and even a little carnival game that my 3 year old played. If you are looking for a vacation spot that has no students or kids then you may want to look for a more secluded local, and not stay right on the main street.
2. The breakfast was great! Fresh fruit, pastries, juice, coffee, tea, cold-cuts, cheeses, crepes, scrambled eggs, waffles, sausages, cereals, breads, salads (Polish style).
2A. We also received dinner with our room. Dinner was 4 courses (appetizer, soup, entree, dessert) It was not prepared by Chef Ramsey, but was very good. Service was a little slow the first evening, but second evening was very quick. They only serve one kind of beer, which was very good and unpasturized forget the name. I loved the cream horseradish soup and the pork tenderloin.
3. This is a tourist area, and you can expect to pay about $20 for a meal here. So for a family of 4 to have a clean safe room with 2 meals a day, a pool, right on Krupowki St. for $120 is a great value.

Not all five star hotels are the same. If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton experience stay at the Ritz then. Use your head when it says that the hotel is $120 a night don't expect a $5000 a night treatment. If you are not one to check out the local scene don't stay local. I normally sleep on a Tempurpedic and slept well in the beds here.

Showers - Hot
Beds - Comfortable
Staff - Friendly and helpful
Rooms - Clean and quiet (a little small) we had a balcony and not the sun-room
Location - Center of it all
Food - Yummy

I studied hotel and restaurant management, live in Colorado, and have traveled enough to be considered experienced but not a road warrior. I would give this hotel a B+ on my subjective scale. I have yet to have an A+ experience somewhere.
Happy Travels!!

This is my 5th visit to this hotel and it will be my last. It does not deserve a 5 star rating. I have been happy in the past but this was the worst ever. Starting outside with the carnival/shooting gallery which meant you had to pass drunks and teenage gangs which were noisy and unruly. Breakfast menu was definitely not for the British - only if you pay extra did you even have the choice of scrambled eggs. No bacon for the whole stay. Matresses on bed are now only 2 inches thick. Seemed to be catering for groups of very noise & drunk Scandinavian visitors. Only good point was some of the original staff are still there and the service from them was excellent. New staff did not know how to cope. Also additional Zakopane taxes now being charged and there was no mention of this on the booking form - an unexpected expense. We will find another hotel for our next visit
