If you are a light sleeper run the other way! You can hear people closing doors, music, TVs, footsteps, etc. I couldn't sleep with an Ambien and my white niose app on the night stand next to my head. The vibrations travel through the walls and floor. I was on the second floor and could hear the people above me walking around. It was horrible! Breakfast and location was good.

The hotel is in a great location. Our room overlooked Market Square...it was fun to open the window and watch the 'goings on'. It was not large, but it served our needs and was nicely appointed. Our room had it's own Fujitsu air conditioning unit which was fantastic. When we were there in mid-August, the outside temperatures were around 100, but our room was set to 70 and heavenly when we returned after long days of sight seeing.
Breakfast was good and the breakfast restaurant staff was nice. Other than breakfast, we did not eat at the hotel.
The place always seemed dark because they have the hallway lights set to a motion detector. There is no light coming in from the outside as all the windows are in the hotel rooms. So, you walk into a dark hallway as it takes a few moments for the lights to come on.
Our biggest problem with this hotel was the car service with which the hotel is aligned. Our travel agent set up our airport transfers and the fee was supposed to be included on our hotel bill. Also, you should know that the man who met us at the airport who had the sign, poorly hand printed I might add, with our name was wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Our driver had a collared shirty but jean shorts. We were surprised that they were not more formally dressed as all other private drivers we have used so far from multiple hotels have all had white shirts, black tie, black pants and a nice car. Our driver spoke poor English which was not a problem until he started asking about our return trip. We told him that the travel agency had organized the return trip and we did not know who was picking us up.
When we arrived at the hotel to check in, the car driver followed us into the hotel where the staff asked us if we wanted to pay the driver cash or add it to our hotel bill. Clearly, there were no notes on our reservation to indicate that it should be added to the bill. After much ado, we gave the driver cash and did not have it put on the bill.
When we left, before the driver arrived, once again the person at reception asked us if we wanted to pay cash or add it to the hotel bill. We were flabbergasted because we had contacted our travel agent about the arrival and he assured us that all was remedied. We told her that it was supposed to be added to the hotel bill, she then told us that there was a 23% surcharge to have it added to the bill. No one had ever told us anything like that...so once again we told her we would pay the driver directly.
Arriving at the airport, the car service driver charged our card 120 pln when the fee was supposed to be 80 pln. When we pushed back and told him it was too much, he tried to tell us that his boss told him to charge us 120pln. We told him that the Hotel told us 80pln and I pulled out my phone to call the hotel. Instead of cancelling the credit card transaction and re-running the card for 80pln. The driver walked into the airport terminal, went to a cash station and got 40pln cash and gave it to us. Of course, we didn't need the 40pln because we were LEAVING. The whole thing seemed like some sort of scam to cheat us out of money.
We were sad for our first and last impressions of this hotel were terrible because of the shady car service with which they are affiliated. As we were waiting for the driver to go to the airport, there was another couple checking in and asked for a specific room. They've been to Krakow 5 or 6 times and they always stay at the Hotel Wentzl.
My husband and I will NEVER stay there again because of our experience...

Wonderful service, fabulous location, comfortable rooms, good price, delicious breakfast, walking distance to most city attractions. Would stay there again. Loved it!

Amazing location, you can see the main square from every room. Rooms are wonderfully decorated, although some of the you may define a bit old fashion. Staff is nice and supportive.

Very nice small hotel. Most rooms have an incredible view to the market square, but not all. If the view is important for you, ask for it during the booking already. Even if you are not interested in the view, the location of the hotel is terrific! It's right in the center of the town. All good restaurants and nightlife is near it. The hotel also provides excellent parking service, so if you arrive by car, they take care of it. Most of the rooms are fantastic with stylish furniture and art. All in all a very nice and cosy hotel.
