Nice place and location, food looked good, but I did not have good service. I waited a long time to even be acknowledged, after I flagged down a waitress to get a menu and then again to order, i ordered fish soup and a glass of wine , got the wine but after waiting 30 minutes found that they didn't get the order for the soup and didn't seem to even care, so I asked for my check and left disappointed.

Skagen is a great example of how tourism can suck the soul out of a restaurant. We decided to dine here because I read positive reviews about the rustic, cosy atmosphere. Upon arrival we were received by exasperated staff and handed a menu with about six items even though I had seen a much more extensive list of options on their website. I'm assuming this is to make sure the guest turnover goes as efficiently and quickly as possible. This was confirmed by the sub par food and the inattentive service (which I don't blame the staff for, but presumably a profit model not based on quality). Incidentally, we were also charged for extra bread which we didn't ask for. It should be noted we ate here during the high tourist season on a Friday evening. I would hope that in the low season, perhaps the intimate atmosphere that was promised to us would come into its own.

Great spot downtown with lovely views of the harbor and cozy outdoor seating. I loved their apple-rhubarb juice and roasted vegetables.

Great place and the lambshoulder is delicious! Portions could be bigger though, imo
