This place is amazing, includes a variaty of pricings and options for your stay, includes kitchen, private and shared Bathrooms, Terrace and living room. Easy one of the best places ever.

Very noisy
The hostel seems nice enough, but if you want a good night's sleep look somewhere else, we were very tired and ill so we booked a private room here, there were some people talking very loud and you can hear absolutely everything. There were some "rules" posted in the room stating to be quiet after 23:00 hours, when we asked to the night porter Eduardo to please ask them to be quiet he very said in a very rude tone that they need not be quiet till 24:00. We found incredible that he was very hostile just because we wanted him to ask them to follow their own rules. We would have been fine if the porter had been a bit more polite.
If you want to rest book somewhere else

Excellent place to stay, super cheap (i paid 170pesos for one night without breakfast). The hostal is super central, like everywhere to go around in the day and in the night at less than 5 minutes. The Hostal is spacious, even in the rooms where we feel we are not just numerous clients to accumulate the ones on the others) so we got space, it is very very clean as compared to many other places we use to go, the staff is amaizing, they helped me organize 10 full days of excursions by my own in this very rich region full of beauties to admire. Last but not least, the rooftop is amaizing and they got stereo and stuff to enjoy a good night with everybody. San Luis Potosi is a small city, lot of students, and centrsl for all excursions. Yet the price we find on the internet are super expensive (fromm 3000 to 10000pesos per excursion) then you find the flyers at the hostal reception desk, proposing 1300pesos pers excursion, and then you meet people like Eduardo a big fan of Potosi, who explains you how to perform easily yourself an excursion for 400pesos. So all in sll 10days budget for doing everything for around 4000pesos. Good deal
