I might avoid this hostel during the off season - I booked here for three nights (early November 2017) and ended up leaving after the first night. I think I was the only guest on the entire property! I don't mind the quietness but it was an eerie experience.
No AC in the Kitty Room but there was a little bit of a breeze coming through the windows which was helpful.
There is no handsoap provided in the shared bathrooms (gross) and the water in the outdoor pool looked like it hadn't been taken care of for a long time - I was too afraid to get in. Very minimal staff, although polite and welcoming.
Stay here if you're on a very tight budget during the months of Spring Break, otherwise try another hostel (I moved to Mezcal which was clean and fun).

We were there off season expecting a party hostel, but it was quite empty. Therefore a little hit disappointed. The internet is good depending on the location of the room. Staff was really nice!

Our first time staying at a hostel and what a great experience! Room was beautiful, clean and private. Good location and great company. Would definitely stay here again

It is in the center of Cancun. Many nice restaurants and bars around. The big hotels and all inclusive areas are 20min away. You can get there by bus 1 and 2

Hostel Quetzal will have a special place in my heart for being the rowdiest and silliest hostel I have ever been to. A bed is only $15 USD/night and includes breakfast, dinner, and a tequila shot.
Where they get you in on the drinks: $3/beer. The staff will offer to play beer pong with you with rules that force you to drink faster. Then, when you lose (they're amazing at beer pong), you have to chug a beer from the beer bong.
The encounter will cost you a lot more than expected, but it is well worth it!
