We booked a car through a company who used avis to hire cars in Malta. When we got to the airport， we had an hour wait in line at the avis stand. The man was rude and added on arbitrary charges we had never heard of. We were given a car for 4 people when we specifically booked a 5 seater. The car we got barely ran. The headlights were not working and it struggled up hill. I would never never book a car with avis again. The most terrible car hire experience i have ever had.

As happened to others clients, they charged me around 30€ without reasons and without notice!

We booked a car rental and paid for it 2 month ago, but when we arrived at airport, there were no one at the counter. We called 24hour service, no one answered! We had to take taxi to our accommodation. Next day, we contacted Avis and made a complain. We suggested we will pick up the car from Avis near our accommodation but they insisted we have to go back to the airport to pick it up. Unreliable and extremely bad service, we cancelled our booking. Do not use Avis in the future.

I had similar experience as mentioned by Alex. I returned my car back on 7th April 2017 with no damage and full tank but for some reason my credit card got charged 25 euros. And when I called them today their useless and rude customer service tells me that may be I left the car at different location or fuel tank not full. Which was a total lie as I picked the car at airport and dropped the car at the same location and I filled the tank at Mia fuel station which is hardly 500 metres away (nearest fuel station to airport). I would rather give them not even a star ...very awful service...no communication with customer what are they being charged for...I will definitely take them to consumer court after today's phone call....Rubbish Avis.....
