Stayed in hotel for 2 nights. Hotel staff quite courteous and helpful. Able to speak English and guide us well for nearest tourist attractions.

This is standard fare for a Japanese hotel. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are par for the course (for the good or bad) with toiletries, sleepwear, and free Wi-Fi in the rooms (no password necessary). If you're uncomfortable with turning your room key into the front desk every time you leave (a request or demand written on the key itself), then you may wish to stay elsewhere.

The rooms are average. They are clean but they are 3-star level. The hotel staff is friendly. They include breakfast but the spread isn't all that great. It definitely isn't geared towards foreign visitors. The staff barely speaks English.
