This bowl of noodle explained why from 5am to 2am this shop has q outside . It's a beautiful soup base which served up a serious umami punch. It is complex in flavours but isn't thick nor sticky like other intensely flavoured ramen. The soup was surprisingly light and coats every mouthful of noodles. The noodle had texture and stayed firm throughout the time I was eating it. Simply amazing .

We came at 7:30pm on a Wednesday and queued up for twenty minutes. We had the special ramen for 850 yen. The serving is generous. Lots of meet and lots of noodles. The soy broth is on the salty side. I couldn't drink much of the soup and got firsty afterwards. There was no boiled eggs in any of the dish. This is not the best ramen in Kyoto but it is good value. We had better ramen elsewhere the night before.
