Volle fünf Sterne für den Balkan Hof in der Innenstadt von Essen:
Lage:
Das Restaurant liegt in der Nähe des Viehofer Platz und ist auch zu Fuß bequem zu erreichen. Obwohl die Lage alles andere als freundlich ist, wurde ich komplett überrascht. Zunächst habe ich den Eingang nicht gefunden, da dieser relativ klein ist.
Design:
Klein ist auch das Restaurant, welches von der Inneneinrichtung durch Spiegel an der Wand künstlich größer vorkam. Das Restaurant sieht von Innen aus wie jedes andere jugoslawische Restaurant. Es läuft Musik aus dem Radio.
Personal:
Einer der freundlichsten Bedienungen in ganz Essen. Man wird dort sehr freundlich empfangen und zuvorkommend bedient. Das Personal hat gute Laune und dies macht sich auch bemerkbar.
Speisen:
Das Fleisch ist zart und nicht trocken. Sowohl die Portionsgröße als auch der Preis entsprechen voll den Erwartungen. Daneben gibt es noch günstige Getränkepreise. Insgesamt sehr lecker!
Aufjedenfall eine Weiterempfehlung und ein Geheimtipp!

Zufällig gefunden in Essen. Personal super nett. Das Essen, vor allem die Steaks sind unglaublich gut. Qualität und Preis vollkommen super. Waren zu viert dort. Alle sehr zufrieden. Jederzeit wieder

Here you have the short version: I love this restaurant.
======》This is my personal opinion, I do not get anything to write this here.
Ok, you prefer the long version? Here we go:
I have visited this nice restaurant on 19th of April 2017 in the city of Essen. It was this time not a business trip.
I have called them on the phone to reserve a table for 3 persons, but the friendly lady on the other end of the line, told me that after eastern there was no problems to get a table there. Good for me :-)
The restaurant is very easy to find even if you are a tuorist here.
We ordered a Campari orange and a Martini rosso, of course we get it on the rocks. Our son had a beer, a Malz beer... perfect. I had the impression that it was a good Portion of Martini rosso ;-)
Then we had for each of us a steak.
I had a Holzfäller Steak, with tons of onions on it: that was goooooood! Very very tasty, beleave me.
Our son hat a filet steak, he said that it was nice and tender. Very nice and very tender. Great.
My all time loved darling had also a very good steak: she had the wish to go for a Steak, was a beatyful idea, I can confirm it.
I did not felt that comfortable with the french red wines, as I do not like that particular grapes, so I have asked the nice Lady there if there was any other options about it... she answered that she had a red wine from Montenegro; I have asked her if she comes fom there too. No, from Croatia. All right. How does it taste, was my next question to her: her friendly and patient answer was that I could test it out.
I have accepted that offer.
We liked it, so we ordered some of that juice. It was nice and very strong, so the evening was nice and funny. 😉
By the way: the french fries and salad was great too.
I usually love to have a dessert at the end of a good meal, but not this time, as my stomac was pretty full. So we ordered two espressi, I mean those small, strong and hot Italian coffee, which u may call Expresso...
We received 2 very nice espressi, very nice as I have to admit. Not like in some other restaurants, where u get (instead of the ordered espresso) a Filterkaffee, a small cup of that, filtered whit an old army sock.
Also important to mention: the prices are good, in relation to what you get here!
Very impotant to mention: the light was quite smouth there, so the staing there was very romantic and comfortable.
To find back to our Hotel was also very easy, from that restaurant.
So: you should visit and enjoy that restaurant, which have a very very long tradition.
