My co-workers and I stayed here for the Essen Spiel 2017 board game convention, and it was probably the best hotel experience I've had in Germany.

Terrible experience at the restaurant of this hotel. We came here during Spiel ‘17. We had decided to have breakfast and play a game. We asked if we could sit anywhere in the restaurant. We opted to take the table in the far back as to not disturb anyone. And the came the manager... she said: This is a restaurant. It is not a place to play games. So please eat and go play elsewhere. The restaurant was empty at the time. So we left, without eating or playing. The way and the tone she used made us feel like we were commiting a crime in the restaurant. It’s only a game and it’s Spiel after all. If you are not gonna accept gamers then what’s the point?

Very convenient to Messe. Comfortable beds, and full sized bath towels (been to many hotels with smallish towels

Nice location close to the messe. Great breakfast. But expensive.
