Hard to rate, first time in Germany/East Berlin. Rated using American hotel as a reference. The plumbing and beds could be better. Maid service was good. Breakfast and attached restaurant also good.

Hotel staff is very rude and unhelpful. Maid came in while we were sleeping with the do not disturb sign posted. She came in again the following day and left the window open while it was raining. I told the staff about both instances but they were rude and short, especially Janith. Location is bad, air conditioning does not cool the room, beds are worn out. Stay elsewhere.

The rooms are good sizes and they are air conditioned. They seem to be renovated but are still a bit dark. The beds are comfortable. There is a bar in the hotel with reasonably priced drinks but overpriced meals. There's not a lot of choice in terms of food; in terms of meat it's basically a steak or schnitzel.
The hotel is a long way outside the Berlin city centre (20 mins) and while there are trams, they're quite confusing and there's still a bit of walking involved.
Breakfast is good though the room is a bit cramped. They have a single two-slice toaster serving the entire breakfast room which can cause a lot of delays .
