Excellent hotel in an an old Commanderie of the Knights Malta. Well worth staying for the architecture alone. The food was excellent and tables are personally served by the chef. How he cooks such excellent food an such a small kitchen is anyone's guess.
A short walk to town over the canal and into the main square.

Fan tast ique! What are superb hotel. No improvement needed. Narrow street parking outside only a tiny inconvenience. The savoy in london would be hard pushed to improve on the meal and ambience here tonight. Well worth saving your pennies guys.

We stayed overnight while touring France in the car. The hotel was wonderful - such a lovely building and beautifully restored. The ambience of the place was unreal you could really imaging the Knights Templar walking around in their armour! We had a first floor bedroom overlooking the courtyard which was fabulous. We ate out with friends in the evening but breakfast was great - almost wish we had managed to have dinner there too. the only downside was that our classic sports car had to be parked outside in the incredibly narrow cobbled street whereas we would usually prefer private parking but this is only a minor niggle. I can't wait to go back and explore Troyes more as the few hours we had there have really whetted my appetite. It's a pricey hotel but well worth splashing out as a treat.
