If you are looking for a special treat for a weekend away then the Intercontinental Bordeaux is a good option. Only an hour's flight from London it is easy to get to, and the hotel is a 30 minute journey from the airport with either taxi or bus. The hotel is located on the main square and just across from the Opera house and next to the old town. The tram stops right outside the hotel as well so it is easy to get around. Bear in mind tgat the hotel only have valet parking and you need to call the hotel when you are outside and they will open the gate. There are several self parking structures around the hotel if you don't want to park at the hotel. The hotel is close to most of the town attractions and the river is only a 5 minute walk away. The building dates back to the 18th century which makes most of the rooms unique and quirky. If you are meeting others in town I can recommend the prestige suites as they come with your own wine bar! All the rooms have period features with modern amenities and nice bathrooms. There are two restaurants at the hotel, one Gordon Ramsay and a two star fine dining. There is also a nice bar in the lobby atrium as well as one on the roof during the summer which has great views over the town. The 5th floor hosts the full service Spa as well as the indoor heated pool and the gym. There is also an outdoor Jacuzzi on the roof next to the rooftop bar. The gym is medium-sized with a good selection of machines and equipment. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only drawbacks at the hotel is that tbe Wi-Fi is patchy due to the quirky design if the building and the old thick walks. A great location for a weekend break and if you are an IHG member you get treated extra well.

Beautiful hotel, conveniently situated with plenty of transport links to get around. Staff were really helpful and friendly and helped make our stay a memorable one. Definitely recommend!

This is an excellent Hotel with great staff.
Yes the rooms are on the small side and a bit too dark.
Great location for exploring Bordeaux and plenty of restaurants in the locality.

Good hotel made great by great customer service. Got to hotel earlier and they accommodated early check-in. Had some noise issue with our room so they moved and upgraded us, excellent location and decor. Only down side is the standard hotel breakfast.
