Always a great place to go for breakfast with the family before leaving Windsor. Conveniently located with lots of parking. Great menu! Try the doughnuts!!

Quick service. Average dinner and lunch. Breakfast is above average. Eat here often for breakfast. Price very reasonable.

Stick to your ribs favourites with a 50s twist. Great service, food is okay. Looks like a great place for breakfast - particularly if you have a big appetite.

We've been regularly visiting since Route 42 opened and up until recently it was always excellent, really good food and staff. Last few visits were at best 3* but our last visit will be our last ever visit.
Ordered chicken parm, first plate was burnt, waitress wasn't even surprised. Replacement portion was undercooked, and then the owner argued with us that it was still okay to eat because they double fry it. We've been in the restaurant business (my wife is a trained chef) and nowhere in the world is it okay to serve a chicken breast that is grey and a bit pink when it's cut into.
Sorry Route 42, we're finished with you.

Amazing vintage diner with accurate attire, service, and food. Fun friendly staff are extremely helpful and create a great diner atmosphere. Shandra, our waitress, was peppy and polite to a fault. Made it seem a little like we had walked onto a "Back to the Future" movie set.
The food is fresh, made with quality ingredients and has big portions. Try the potato skins, you will not be disappointed!
We had to catch a flight but had been so intrigued (and hungry) while waiting at the Windsor Airport; We had to try Route 42 Diner :D Am I ever glad we did! Shandra helped get our order put through faster so we could still enjoy a meal and catch our flight on time. It was mouth watering savoury meal to write home about ;)
Worth crossing the road from the Windsor Airport, I highly recommend giving Route 42 Diner a try!!
