Hands down my favourite restaurant in thunder bay. Great food cooked right before your eyes. Very friendly staff. Unlimited buffet for cheap.

Really fun and interesting place to eat. Pricing is moderate. It's free on your birthday and for kids under ten on Tuesday. It is basically a build your own stir fry place. You get a bowl and fill it with whatever you want. It is kind of expected that you will challenge the laws of physics fitting stuff in. Many sauces to choose from and suggested mixes it is prepared on giant stove with sword. Kids love it

The food is excellent and the service is amazing, the chefs are spectacular and we regularly come in to feast! Normally we don't do reviews but we aren't sure how to bring it to the restaurants attention that we had an issue around the time the restaurant was closing. Most of the seasoned regular staff were gone and we didn't know who the manager was at the time but we knew that there were some new employees working. Maybe they were too new but we never ordered a kids meal before and we weren't given an explanation that they couldn't take it home. So unfortunately half of their portions went in the garbage. It would've been nice to have been told that they couldn't take it home. Maybe the gentleman was nervous or perhaps he didn't know to explain what we were ordering but it was disappointing as the order came to a large amount of money.
Nonetheless Mongos is still one of our top 3 picks in Thunder Bay, and we'd give it a 5 star review if the circumstances were different. The others that came with us happened to have their first time coming to Mongos ruined by misinformation or lack of.

Delicious food, awesome variety. If you like to design your own meal and have someone else cook it.. definitely the place for you!

Nice place. Good food. The concept is really cool. You can choose anything to full a bowl and they cook your meal in front of you. We had enough for our lunch the day after. :)
