We had our wedding reception here. With about 90 guests, there was loads of seating and room to spare for a dance floor and food service. The exposed ceiling, brick walls and brewing equipment meant that we didn't have to decorate. Which made the day much easier. We had an open bar, so our guests got to enjoy trying all of the available beers. As well as a couple wines and liquor options. The staff was top notch. From the planning stages (we live in Calgary so planning was tricky) through the night they were on point and were able to help spot issues before they arose. At no point in the night did anyone find themselves wanting for anything. We were are fairly big drinkers, but there never seemed to be a lineup at the bar. Big thanks to Mel and Stephen for everything. I'd definitely recommend Descendants to anyone looking for a versatile and unique event space.

The beers aren't bad, as with everyone they have their staple beers that are just better than others. I like the live music when they do it. The vibe is decent. Food is great, more selection would be awesome.

The chickpea sandwich was Boring, no taste and no red onions , all I saw was white onion. Disappointed. The entertainment was good and so was the beer. The food menu should be reviewed and revamped, add some hot food for Saturday night clients. On the right track but food is an important mix even though it's a beer joint.

A good friend of mine, Bonnie, recently started working at descendants. Prior to meeting her I knew very little about craft beer but since she shared her passion I have been to dozens of craft breweries. I had not been to Descendants prior to her working there, but I knew if it met her standards to work there the beer must be good and I was not disappointed. As I always do when trying a new brewery, I order a flight so I can get a better understanding of the brewery opposed to just one of their beers. My girlfriend also went and ordered a beer so in total I tried 5 beers while there. We also both ordered lunch and the paninis were also delicious. I highly recommend this brewery.

I love Descendants Brewery overall. There beer is tasty. (they also have frisky beaver wine for those non-beer drinkers out there)They will allow you to sample before you buy if you're not sure which beer to select. They have really stepped up the food options and offer buck-a-shuck every Friday in collaboration with Caudles Catch Seafood.
When it's busy the service is decent, but not quite a 5/5 and the atmosphere / ambience still needs a little work.
They offer trivia nights, buck a shuck, family day, live music and comedy. Check their social media channels to see what's coming up next.
