From afar the room looked quite clean, but upon close examination, it appeared to me that it hadn't undergone a good cleaning in quite some time.
Bathroom - Tub and toilet were clean. There were large dried liquid stains that dripped down on two different walls, they were plainly visible and clear to see. There were small old stains around the toilet roll holder.
Room - Beds were neatly made, pillows comfortable & thick, the mattress was too soft for my liking.
The office chair had white stains on the seat.
There was lots of dust & some debris behind the lounge chair, which was odd as it wouldn't be difficult to run a vacuum behind the chair.
The floor lamp was missing the knob on the on/off switch, so it couldn't be turned on.
The tv and fridge worked fine.
I never like seeing power bars in a hotel room, as it simply tells me that the room wasn't wired properly in the first place or was skipped during renovations. Between the bed, where the night stand lay, was a whole gaggle of cords and that power bar.
Pool - big, nice and clean. There were no clean towels when we first jumped into the pool, but giant piles of dirty towels in an over flowing basket. Half way through the swim staff brought out clean towels, so I was glad for that, but they didn't take the giant pile of old towels away.
WIFI - It only worked for a few minutes. It was painfully slow and then I got bumped off the network & was never able to reconnect at any time.
The lobby was clean, inviting and the staff were pleasant. Check in was a breeze.
I've stayed in cleaner 2 star motels and for the price, I won't stay at this Ramada again...not a chance.

Meh. I expected a bit more for the price point. Looks like the hotel had better days. Paint is a little worn and my door stuck so bad a had put my shoulder into it to force it open, and I'm a man. The pool complex is well done (although the gym is very bare bones) and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is quite good, depending on what you want to do in Kingston.
Meh. I expected a bit more for the price point. Looks like the hotel had better days. Paint is a little worn and my door stuck so bad a had put my shoulder into it to force it open, and I'm a man. The pool complex is well done (although the gym is very bare bones) and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is quite good, depending on what you want to do in Kingston.

Very nice knowledgeable front desk rep. Accommodated our need for room with short walk. Clean linens.......shiny bathroom EXCEPT for the mould around bathtub. Really how hard is it to clean with lemon or vinegar and control mould. Air conditioner had created wet rug and that was dried up while we were out BUT the worker unplugged the frig to use that outlet. We had food in frig. Where was that person's brain?
Can't say I would recommend this location.

The bed was comfortable but bed sheets felt thin and worn down and did not make for comforting sleep. My back kept itching when I was sleeping on the sheets. Weird smell coming from bathroom that seems covered with air freshener. Hot water runs out during the shower. Door does not close properly. The hotel room was barely cleaned but the sheets tidied and toiletries were replaced which was nice. Dennys and lots of restaurants nearby. Free parking. Personally I would not choose this as a place to stay.. I was not at ease.

Considering the cost of the room for the weekend, I expected better accommodations. The only thing that kept it me from giving it one star is the hotel concierge who helped me check in. Her name was Jena and she did a wonderful job. Very friendly and helpful.
The room however was disappointing. First, I had to use my body weight to open the door. It looks as though they have added one too many layers of paint or someone damaged the door from before and it wasn't fixed properly. The bathroom door wasn't able to close either. Second, overall the room wasn't very clean. Thankfully the bed was the really clean.
Unless they were to properly fix, update some of the areas and keep their prices reasonable, I will look for alternative accommodations next time I am in Kingston.
