Have seen lots of commercials stating how good the tavern is and my wife and I thought that we would finally try it as we enjoy eating at nice locations. However, this was not a pleasant experience as we were having difficulty identifying which door to enter through and tried the gold entrance. Upon entering we realised that we were in the gaming area. We saw what looked like the bistro right next to the gaming room so proceeded in that direction. There was my wife, a friend and I and we had our 10 month old baby in a pram. Just as we were about to enter the bistro area someone behind us yell "Oi" from across the room which we did not initially realise it was at us until we heard "Oi" again right behind us. In my opinion it sounded like someone yelling at a dog. As we turned around a female staff member was standing right behind me so that when I turned she was inches from my face. She commenced telling us that no one under 18 years old was allowed in the gaming area. I replied "yes" confused as to who she was talking about and she pointed at our baby and said "her, how old is she?" I attempted to apologise and explain that we had never been there and were trying to find the bistro, to which she ignored and continued to speak to us in a rude, aggressive tone. She then made us walk right back through the gaming area to exit the building instead letting us exit the gaming area into the bistro through the door right next to us. There was no attempt by this staff member to identify our issue or to assist us in any way. Due to this we left the premises and went to another restaurant where we enjoyed a lovely meal and were attended to by staff that went above and beyond what we expected to help us and make our experience enjoyable and pleasant. I can say that we will not be returning to the tavern if this is what they considered customer service.

Visitors from QLD, bistro was very busy, manager went out of his way to make room for us, excellent well priced meals, good service.Would recommend to anyone.

Under new management and gotten more upperclass. Meals still cheap just the professionalism is now higher. I was a little annoyed that the staff seem to be to keen in helping and asking how the meal is before we even started eating. Will go again

Excellent $12.50 meals in main bar. Friendly staff great atmosphere. Well worth it.
