This is an open letter to the young lady at Blooms the Chemist Ballina Fair who refused to fill a script for a young girl today.
My daughter has just had her tonsils and adenoids removed and grommets inserted into both ears. We were instructed by the doctor from hospital to only fill the script if it was required. Well last night was the worst night of all since her operation on tuesday 1/3. We came into the chemist (our regular chemist) this morning 6 days later to fill this prescription as her pain level of a night is not settled by either panadol, nurofen or painstop.

We left the script with you and informed you we would return at 5.30pm.
Upon my return at 5.30pm after work we were told that you were not going to fill the script for the following reasons:
1. The script was 6 days old.
2. You refuse to fill it as she is under 18 years old

So instead of contacting us during the day you left it to sit there all day rather than looking in your system to obtain our contact number to call us for more information. You continued to explain that you don't have our numbers on record.

Firstly, we fill all our family scripts with your chemist which have all contact details on them, we are also a loyalty member and have on numerous occasions had to have our details entered into your system when obtaining cold and flu tablets. For you to state you don't have our contact details is a huge lie on your behalf and a poor show of professionalism.

Today you not only angered a very tired mother who reacted very strongly to your lack of professionalism, you lost a very loyal customer. It saddens me deeply that I feel that you appear to think you are above what a surgical doctor has prescribed a patient for pain relief.

I will never promote your company nor set foot in the establishment again.
