My day out on the sailaway was perhaps the best in my life. It is a smaller boat compared to competitor but because it has a sail can get really close to the whales without risking injury since can turn off engines. Arrive early and put your phone away except to take pictures and listen to captain's instructions and you will have a great day. We saw six to seven whales..one right next to the boat!

An all-around great experience aboard the Sail A Way! Captain John was a knowledgeable tour-guide around Frenchman Bay, leading us to breaching whales, seals and dolphins! If anyone got cold or just wanted some relief from the wind, jackets were available. The crew was extremely friendly as well, and as a part of the tour we were provided with hot beverages and tasty snacks throughout the cruise...the homemade scones with jam were especially good. As an extra personal touch, Forrest, John's wife greeted us at the dock upon our return.
I would definitely recommend this when in Albany!

We had a fabulous time out on the Sail-A-Way. We did not see whales, as they had left for Antarctica, but had a wonderful cruise never the less. Thanks Tony for this special adventure and for a great experience.
