Food was ok, nothing special. I've tried some other restaurants around Mendoza with much better food & service that were more reasonably priced. The service at 1884 was disruptive. The staff literally came to our table over 20 times during dinner and interrupted our conversation to light and re-light the dinner candle that kept going out. They should have just taken it away or replaced it with one that worked. The atmosphere as you enter by the bar is nice, but the actually dining area is next to the wood fire grill. The air got so bad that my eyes were watering and burning from the smoke and it became difficult to breathe. I've seen documentaries about Chef Francis Mallmann and how the Patagonian camp fire inspired his way of cooking and preference for the slightly burnt flavor. It all sounded amazing, which was why I wanted to try this restaurant. Sadly, it turned out to be an extremely unpleasant experience and the smoke also permeated my clothes, so I smelled like I escaped from a house that burnt down as I left the restaurant.

So disappointed , the food was not worth the price . Service was ok but no sommelier- or perhaps just not bothered to come & see us. The pricing is high end but the food does not match it. A lot of marketing hype but just doesn't deliver. Much better restaurants in Mendoza

THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT LOCATION! The correct location is in Godoy Cruz! I don't know why google maps is listing it close to plaza independencia, but we nearly missed our reservation because of it. Look up 1188 Belgrano, not by name, and that is the correct place. Most cab drivers in the area will know where it is, the exterior doesn't have a well labeled sign, but look for a security guard will meet you at the gate and ask for the name of your reservations.other than that, one of the best meals we've ever had, cannot recommend enough!!

Had dinner here as a treat after 2 days of wine touring in Mendoza. I was really looking forward to this restaurant as it has had such good reviews. Venue is beautiful and the service was great. I was disappointed with my starter of potatoe and rosemary pizza,main course was a bit better, rib eye steak. Maybe I was just unlucky with what I ordered. I think it is a tad overpriced but I guess your paying for eating at such a cool location.

Definitely the best food Ive had in Argentina! The food was prepared exceptionally well and the entire staff was very knowledgeable with appropriate wine pairings. This restaurant is well worth the 5 star rating.
